Tom Petty’s newest album Mojo came out June 15th. As a Petty enthusiast I was really excited by everything I had heard. This song is full of ensemble sounds, from screaming harmonica, killer guitar solo, and some great piano sounds. Its a song full of bouncing fun bluesy rock goodness.
The new album, Mojo, is heavily riff driven as Mike Campbell was finally given the green light to show off what most people know about him already. He’s a great guitarist. Furthermore he actually shines on this album and I think it’s part of what makes this album so so solid. He should go down as one of the best rock guitarists of all time. It almost seems as though he doesn’t know how to play a bad note.
If you have the opportunity to check out their new album, I highly recommend it. Its guitar driven, fantastic and up and down just a solid album to listen to.
