New Music | G.Love – Fixin To Die

Fixin To Die I’ve been following G.Love since ‘Baby’s Got Sauce’, been to lots of his live shows, I’ve got nearly all of his albums; he’s poised to release yet another one coming up in February. His new album, titled ‘Fixin to Die’ recorded at Echo Mountain Church in North Carolina; was produced and played on by Seth and Scott Avett.  The title track, Fixin to Die, originally written by Booker T Washington White, is a blues track with all the foot stomping, hand clapping rhythms and G. Love’s trademark vocals and blues harmonica.  The production sounds really great and…

Check out the video for PJ Harvey’s The Last Living Rose, a track off her upcoming album, Let England Shake, available on Vagrant Records, February 15th.  The video was directed by the award-winning photographer Seamus Murphy (http://seamusmurphy.com), who has directed series of videos to accompany all 12 songs on ‘Let England Shake’. The 12 videos features still and moving images from a 5,000 mile road-trip Murphy undertook around England. He has worked similarly with still photography on journeys through America and Russia.

Toro Y Moi – Still Sound

Still Sound I finally broke down and listened to Toro y Moi’s new track, Still Sound.  Not sure why I waited so long but, the South Carolina native, Chazwick Bundick’s bedroom project turned recording artist is releasing another album entitled, Underneath the Pine, a companion record to his debut release (Causers of This).  “Still Sound” is a ethereal lo-fi funk gem.  If you slept on this, I suggest you check this out as soon as you can. Underneath the Pine releases February 22nd.

Beach House – I Do Not Care For The Winter Sun

I Do Not Care For the Winter Sun Baltimore dream pop duo, Beach House, recently released a holiday single entitled ‘I Do Not Care For The Winter Sun.’  As their M.O. has shown, its a slow burning, sleepy, fireside dream of a work, just as beautiful as you’d expect from them. A perfect way to enjoy a cold holiday evening.

Bridge Underwater – Send Me All Your Love

Send Me All Your Love Philly indie-rockers  and pop songsmiths Bridge Underwater recently contacted me with a link to their EP Send Me All Your Love.  The EP a short 3 songs long just isn’t enough.  The three tracks available for a dollar on their bandcamp.  These songs are a blast to listen to. The title track, Send Me All Your Love, is a sweet indie pop track that will absolutely have you bobbing your head, tapping your toes, and clicking repeat.  I’m falling in love with this track and honestly haven’t turned it off.
