The much anticipated 3rd release (Civilian) of Baltimore duo Wye Oak won’t come until 2011. But yesterday amped up the anticipation with title track, Civilian being released. The track is powerful, yet vocally quiet singer Jenn Wasner’s voice conveys that strength until succumbed by Andy Stack’s guitars, organs, pounding percussions drown her out. The song is quite beautiful, and a joy to listen to.
Wye Oak will also be touring with the Decemberists (holy awesome show batman!) next month here in Boston.
