Boston’s The Acre is set to release their album Circa Trova tonight at TT the Bears place in Cambridge. The sophomore album, was recorded with help from Chris McLaughlin (Aberdeen City, Mean Creek, Township). With influences like Wilco, Bon Iver and Low Anthem in their minds they’ve created an album that merges those influences with their own style.
The music is hilariously defined as ‘Amerigaze.’ A sort of Americana with the sleepy dreamy style of shoe gaze that creates this entrancing lush atmosphere that is absolutely gorgeous. This is done so well in songs in which they employ duet male/female vocals call and response vocals.
Its a gorgeous album, that I think people are really going to like.
Also on the bill is the standout americana act Kingsley Flood, whom I’ve written a lot about, and are one of my absolute favorite Boston bands.
