New Music | Jeremy Messersmith – Blue Sky

Jeremy Messersmith – Blue Sky Check out Jeremy Messersmith’s Blue Sky, an homage to everything going on at the Occupy Wall Street protests.  The acoustic driven song sounds every bit like Paul Simon.  Messersmith as always does a fantastic job painting an elegant picture with his lyrical eloquence and sentimental delivery.  Really enjoying this one.

New Music | Johan Reinhold – Shoot Me Down

Johan Reinhold – Shoot Me Down Shoot Me Down, a poignant song about love-hate relationships, holding on too long, and the numbness that follows is the single from the upcoming full-length debut ”Beautiful Loser” by Swedish indie electro-pop singer/songwriter, Johan Reinhold. Michael Kiwanuka – I’m Getting Ready

Michael Kiwanuka – I’m Getting Ready Stumbling upon this small EP by London’s Michael Kiwanuka was such a treat. His voice is reminiscent of Otis Redding & Bill Withers, his music a little Dylan, and a little Nick Drake. He was supposed to be midway through his tour opening for Adele, but as everyone knows, the tour was canceled. His first full length will come out in the US on Cherrytree Records sometime in mid spring. http://michaelkiwanuka.com/

The vocals are expansive and soaring, the sounds are vastly textural, and huge. Everything, I mean everything, is just a bit larger on this album.  If you are unfamiliar with the story, the band is made of four brothers from northern California, Aaron, Bryson, Ryan & Lanson Baggaley and their longtime friend Chandler Clemons.  Their music definitely brings to mind the influences of Band of…
