Carter Tanton’s “Fake Pretend” is a shoegaze(y) / nuwave(y) gem that weaves tragically emotional feelings with eclectic samples. It feels a bit Simple Minds-y with its nu wave style. Its a perfect song for the fall, with tons of layered production here, and a foggy, stormy atmosphere that might just be the Boston coming out of the ex-Tulsa frontman.
