Plants and Animals’ new album, The End of That, hits next year in February, but we’re lucky to get to hear a new track off the Montreal trio’s album. Lead single, “Lightshow,” deploys a more acoustic sound similar to that of their first album, but its where the acoustic meets electric is where “Lightshow” stands out. Its slightly melancholic, and becomes bombastic as it crescendos into a solo and into gang harmonies that sound really great. Seeing these guys live really opened my eyes to their music, and this sound will definitely translate in that respect. I look forward to hearing the rest of this album.
