Houston seems to be a hotbed for talent these days, and Buxton is one that has caught my ear with their eccentrically lush harmonies pounding rhythm & prickly banjo plucking. Its a newgrass sound that is reminding me of quite a bit like Joe Strummer’s Johnny Appleseed. Check out their first track “Boy of Nine,” off their upcoming album Nothing Seems Strange Here, out 1/31
