Lately I have not been able to resist all things John McCauley who seems to be fronting another band, Diamond Rugs, an indie rock supergroup(another one!) featuring Robbie Crowell (Deer Tick), Ian Saint Pé (The Black Lips), Steve Berlin (Los Lobos), Hardy Morris (Dead Confederate) and Bryan Dufresne (Six Finger Satellite). This being the first true single from their upcoming album out April 24 on Partisan Records. “Gimme a Beer,” is probably the Deer Tick infused part of the record, as it inflects their country tinged blues rock style and McCauley’s vocal and writing styles are all over this.
Needless to say, I’m really excited about this record.
