Ryan Monroe – Any Way, Shape or Deformity

Ryan Monroe – Any Way, Shape Or Deformity Paste has recently posted a stream of Ryan Monroe’s new album A Painting of a Painting On Fire, which releases on June 12th; and if you haven’t been made acquaintance with Monroe’s music, he also has released two singles, one of which I posted a short while ago, and this new one “Any Way, Shape Or Deformity,” an ELO-like single that is delightful, a little silly, but altogether a really fun sound (which to me feels a little Dr. Dog-ish).  The record is shaping up to be quite an eclectic set of…

New Music | Bear Driver – Enemy

Sunny, slacker pop has a particular home in my heart, and I touched upon Bear Driver’s single “Big Love,” a few months back.  Fast forward to now, they are releasing another single “Enemy,”  a whimsical pop rock track that glistens and jangles with a coinciding video (below) and the announcement that their upcoming album will be available in a week.  You can grab a pre-order on their bandcamp, while you are checking out their track “Enemy.”

New Music | Blonds – Run

Blonds – Run The lovely duo Blonds is about to released their full length debut, The Bad Ones, on August 7th this year.  They are releasing this first single, “Run,”  a melodramatic track with huge, howling vocals from singer Cari Rae.  It’s expansive, raw and beautiful. The Floridian couple uprooted themselves to Brooklyn to record with Rare Book Room producer Nico Vernhes (Dirty Projectors, Deerhunter, etc.).  Look for a summer tour announced soon.

New Music | Chocolate Robots – Young Luff

Chocolate Robots – Young Luff

This may be the perfect ray of sunshine that we here in Boston need after about 2 weeks of gray days and rain. Enter Chocolate Robots, a trio of brothers who call a pizza shop home. Their music is fun, irreverent, a little zany and whimsical. This is sunshine pop rock that brightens the day, and begs for some chair dancing. Check out the single above, or the spectacular video below and sing along.
