Lighthouse & the Whaler – Venice

Digging this new track from Cleveland’s The Lighthouse and the Whaler, “Venice.”  It’s a pop-infused rock track that feels a bit like it was influenced by Menomena, the soaring vocals, guitar & keyboard ornamentals, string arrangements and pounding drums make for a great listening experience, and leaves me thirsty for more.

The single comes from their upcoming record This Is An Adventure, out 9/18.  It was produced by Ryan Hadlock (The Lumineers & Ra, Ra, Riot),  in a refurbished barn at Bear Creek Studios in Seattle, WA. The band’s meticulous nature comes out in the record,  “We really thought about every part and how it would affect the way the song comes together,” says singer Michael LoPresti. “We spent hours in the studio trying to get each part to have this radiating feeling and energy.” The end result can be felt in this first single, its a brilliant sparkling gem.
