Trevor Montgomery’s Young Moon project creates a sound that feels lonely, and vulnerable; is it a case of the name becoming the sound, the music is a bit spacey, or a set of influences? For me, I hear a John Hughes film influence, his music right away sounds like somber moments in the 80’s films of my childhood. Times in the movies when the protagonist is searching for answers, within a problem or within himself. That’s the mood Young Moon’s “Winds Light” puts me into.
