[L]ast year, Saskatchewan’s The Sheepdogs won Rolling Stone’s cover issue and became the first unsigned band to adorn the cover of the magazine. Since then the boys have been touring like crazed madmen, and they found some time record their debut album (and heck it was even produced by Patrick Carney.)
That track was released recently and when I heard its guitar driven rock track that’s got a little snarl to it, which feels a little bit like Carney’s influence, a bluesy rock track that is going to remind a lot of people of the Keys… which won’t be a surprise. Look for a big tour for the record, which will land the band here in Boston at the Middle East 9/19, and a release of their debut self-titled album on 9/4.
