[C]heck out Brooklyn’s Good Friend, a folk / pop band that evokes the folk pop of Buffalo Springfield and meshes it with the harmony-driven pop music of the Beach Boys. They’ve just released their first single, “Ships that Sink,” off their upcoming album, Bonfire, out in October on Ghost Type Records. “Ships that Sink,” uses a multilayered vocal & harmony that creates a confessional style that harkens back to a simpler time.
