[A] show that popped up on our radar only a few days prior to the show, that we simply could not resist was The Radio 92.9 Low Dough Holiday Show to Benefit the Wounded Warrior Project on Sunday night. It was strange to head down town into the bowels of Faneuil Hall but when it comes to seeing J. Roddy Walston rock the entire house, it didn’t take us long to decide we had to be there. As usual, Walston was at his best tickling the crowd with fan favorite tunes from their new album Essential Tremors, which is one of our favorites this year, and their self-titled record from a few years back. I can honestly and wholeheartedly say (as evidenced by the photos in the group where I’m shouting at the top of my lungs) that this band is one of the best live acts touring these days. Walston is engaging, energetic, fun, and the songs are absolutely perfect for a live environment. When the band has the crowd eating out of their palm on “Midnight Cry,” “Heavy Bells,” or oldie “Used to Did” you can certainly feel that this band is something special. Completely elated, the crowd was a buzz jumping, dancing, and screaming word for word with Walston and the Business. My only disappointment is that the show has to end. Check out our photos and see if you can Where’s Waldo™ me in more than three of them.
