New Music | Fort Frances – Anonymous

I’ve been bringing music from Chicago’s Fort Frances since 2011 and I’ve really enjoyed seeing the band continue to record and progress over those years. The band is excitedly preparing a new EP, No One Needs to Know Our Name, for a May 12th release.

For the new recordings,the band headed to Maine and worked with producer and mixer Sam Kassirer (so we’re already fans) at Great North Sound Society. Kassirer has produced and worked on a bunch of my favorite records, with great artists like Josh Ritter, Lake Street Dive, and Langhorne Slim. So when I heard they were up north for the record, I got excited. Then I hit play on their new single “Anonymous,” and it is a bright surge of energy. Its triumphant and joyful, superbly upbeat, and you hear all of it from that very moment when you press the button. The band has captured an energy with horns, hand-claps & crisp songwriting that’s instantly memorable, and just feels good on the ears.

I couldn’t be more excited to hear more from this upcoming EP.
