New Music | Beth Orton – 1973

Not only do we have a new single from Beth Orton’s highly anticipated album, Kidsticks, we also received word that she will tour here in the states immediately following the release, with a stop here in Boston on June 15th, which is all kinds of exciting. I had hoped to hear news of a Newport appearance but I will take what I can get as it has been a minute since she’s been in our part of the world.

The second track is titled, “1973,” and it’s full of sparkly, synth-dance, goodness that will fit perfectly in that upcoming summertime playlist of yours. In fact, Kidsticks, is Orton’s first album built entirely around synthesizers rather than guitar, although this isn’t her first rodeo when it comes to making beats in lieu of plucking strings.

Press play and turn it up loud. Summer is coming!

You can pre-order Kidsticks, which is out via Anti- Records on May 27th.
