I love sharing music from Sweden’s Goat, the elaborately costumed masters of experimental sound, and upon receiving word that there was new material in the form of an upcoming 7″, well I just knew you all had to hear it. On May 27th the band will release, “I Sing in Silence,” via Sub Pop and it is an irresistible, upbeat number created with woodblock percussion, acoustic guitars, swirling vocals, and a flute thrown in for good measure.
The members of Goat are well known for their enthusiasm for fuzzed-out tribal beats and reverb-heavy psychedelic guitar solos, and while “I Sing in Silence” follows along the same path, this time the band have unplugged the amps to create a song that transports the listener to far off places. Places where feathered headdresses and bejeweled robes sway gently in the warm, ocean breeze.
