It is with a heavy heart that I write this post to say goodbye to a favorite musician of mine. As I’m sure all of you know by now the lead singer of Frightened Rabbit was reported missing Wednesday after leaving his hotel room in Scotland. He had left behind a few messages on Twitter that were worrisome but his family and friends and fans held out hope that he would return safe and sound. Unfortunately they found his body this morning.
If you were lucky enough to see Frightened Rabbit, or Scott solo, you were more than likely as affected by his presence as I was. His voice was like no other and his lyrics were beautiful and devastating at the same time. Scott wore his heart on his sleeve and you can see by the outpouring of love from his adoring fans that his words helped to pull people out of the troubles they were facing. It is so sad that he felt the need to take his life to end the suffering he was going through.
Depression and mental health are serious issues. If you are feeling overwhelmed and alone know that you are not. There are people out there who love you. I know that those words more than often don’t really help and sometimes you just don’t see a way out. If any of our Music Savage friends and family are hurting reach out to those around you. Even the darkest days have a brilliant dawn.
