This week’s WFMO X Music Savage Show “Song of the Week” spotlight is on the wonderful new single, “Essay,” from Charlie Belle. The track is the first to be released from the Austin, TX band’s upcoming EP, Like I Love This, out September 25th.
Charlie Belle are brother/sister duo Jendayi Bonds (guitar/vocals) and Gyasi Bonds (drums/vocals). They have been performing since 2009, honing their breezy, super-catchy, indie-pop in all the great venues throughout the “Live Music Capital of the World.” Their debut EP, Get To Know, was released in 2014 and caught the attention of big players like NPR and Nylon Magazine. The following year they released the equally well received EP I Don’t Want To Be Alone.
The band are currently on their Like I Love This EP Tour with Nashville up next before heading home to Austin. No New England dates listed as of yet but here’s hoping they swing on by one day soon.
