This week’s WFMO X Music Savage Show “Song of the Week” spotlight is on the wonderful new single, “Human (Heart),” from London-based artist and producer Grace Gillespie. The track was released digitally on April 12th and physically on a James Morrison-curated vinyl release by Richer Unsigned on April 13th for Record Store Day.
Gillespie released her debut singles “Restoration” and “Everything (Nothing)” in March 2018 via Kaleidoscope and swiftly caught the attention of music fans across the UK. Her song-writing and composition style blends folk traditions seamlessly together with a psych-pop vibe wrapped effortlessly around intriguing harmonies. It’s quite an impressive skill to blend multiple genres to create something unique and captivating for the listener.
The new single reflects on how we all present only the choicest parts of our daily lives to our friends through social media. Allowing just a fraction of yourself to be seen and heard. It’s a beauty of a song and one that I have had on repeat for some time now.
I am excited to share this one with you all and I’m really looking forward to what the future holds for this talented musician.
