The latest WFMO X Music Savage Show “Song of the Week” spotlight is focused on the spectacular new single titled, “Animals Eating People,” from Ottawa, Ontario musician Marie-Clo. The track is off her first English language EP, Shell(e) Pt. I, out now independently.
This the first of three EP’s to be released over the next year or so and the songs on each will of them will make up her full-length English album, Shell(e), due out in 2021. It’s produced by Polaris shortlisted drummer/ producer Olivier Fairfield (Fet Nat, Timber Timbre, Leif Vollebek), and will be released with the support of the Ontario Arts Council, the Canada Council for the Arts, and FACTOR (a program that provides financial support to Canadian recording artists).
I loved this song the moment I hit play and instantly had to go to her bandcamp page to hear everything else. The move to create her first album in English should (and better) introduce the talented musician to a wider U.S audience, however I implore you to listen to her songs in French. The message and meaning behind the words are the same no matter if you understand the language. The music she creates will hit your soul.
