Press Play I feel like I’m more stoked about the music on this mixtape than maybe any other month, but when I look back and I see other mixtapes, I think I say the exact thing every month. Press Play October was a spooky good month for new music, and I’m psyched for the broad range of music that we’ve got on this playlist. Everything from power pop jams to jangly americana to lo-fi ambling indie rock. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Leave a CommentIt’s becoming a recurring scene, the Music Savage gang flocking to the Sinclair to catch even a glimpse of the nuclear power factory that is Black Pistol Fire. On the heels of their most recent release, Deadbeat Graffiti, the YYZ come ATX band descended on our little town to set our hair on fire. Opening the night was Nashville’s Blackfoot Gypsies, whom against most any other band could steal the show. I actually had trouble cutting this month’s haul down to forty. There’s some exciting stuff like a collaboration between Kurt Vile and Courtney Barnett to new Beck, to pounding rock tracks from Black Pistol Fire. Enjoy!
