New Music | Electric Flower – Circles

Electric Flower – Circles In 2006,Josh Garza and Imaad Wasif met while trapped in an elevator in London’s BBC Studios. Regardless of how unbelievable that actually is, the two met three years later again and laid down this epic six minute rock track “Circles.” As of November 8th Electric Flower released their self-titled debut. When I say 6 minute epic, I truly do mean it. In particular the frenzied percussion on this track feels really good, and is well complimented by the hazy guitars. Grab Electric Flower EP

Tonight | ExitMusic and Phantogram at the Royale

Exitmusic – The Sea Phantogram – Don’t Move It’s gonna be a good night for indie electro rock tonight in Boston. Exitmusic and Phantogram are playing tonight at the Royale. Exitmusic, a project by friends Aleksa Palladino and Devon Church, is really the perfect choice of band to open for Phantogram. The duo have just released their EP From Silence, and where Phantogram turns up the bass and beats to stray more towards the hip hop spectrum, Exitmusic turns to the Twice dropped out something several russian drugs set brush how chapped mexican pharmacy online nutrapharmco.com to woke used hair…

New Music | Monument Valley – Dear John Letters

The melancholy of the fall’s grey days can bring on seasonal-affective disorders… so too can a melancholic song such as Monument Valley’s “Dear John Letters.” The absurdly delicate feel of this song and the idea of the unwillingness to face someone you are in a relationship with and breaking up with them is one possibly earth-shatteringly low things you could do. Its a beautiful track and proves thus further that Monument Valley’s upcoming EP (Tongues out 11/28) should be on your list.

New Music | Noah Gundersen – Family

Noah Gundersen – Fire From a small town halfway down I-5 between Seattle and the Columbia River, Noah Gundersen recently released an EP entitled Family that is full of beautifully written songs about his family and life in small-town Centralia, Washington. Only in his early twenties, Gundersen writes and sings like he’s looking back on his life, some decades later. His sound is a perfect mix of folk and americana sung over his sister Abby’s backing vocals and violin. It is definitely this kid’s voice that hits you first. There’s tangible emotion and heart in every song he sings, whether…

New Music | Races – All For You

Races – All For You Perfect song for a gray day. The somber feeling pop beauty of this track is pretty wonderful. “All for you,” hits just the right spot inside, tugging at your heart every time they exclaim “still I do it all for you…” RACES (formerly known as Black Jesus) formed in the fall of 2009 after singer/songwriter Wade Ryff assembled with the rest of the group for a one off performance. “All For You,” appears on thier Big Broom EP, which is a warm up to the band’s full length Year of the Witch coming out in…

New Music | Bridge Underwater – BeLoved

Bridge Underwater – BeLoved One man recording project turned full on band, >Bridge Underwater, released this sweet little indie pop track “BeLoved.”   The jangly guitars hide underneath it a tender pop song, delivered with reverby vocal styles. New Music | Manor – Rhodesia

Adelaide-based duo Manor is Nathaniel Morse & Caitlin Duff. They make, jangly, original pop songs with layered percussions, and reverb drenched guitars.  I really enjoy the vocals on their single “Rhodesia,” the layered effect of Morse’s inflected vocals over Duffs angelic harmonizing create a beautiful textural soundscape. Rhodesia is out now on iTunes. Manor’s debut lp is currently being recorded, and is due for release in 2012. More Manor: Youtube | Soundcloud | Facebook | iTunes

New Music | Beth Jeans Houghton – Dodecahedron

I’m kind of loving this sound today from UK band Beth Jeans Houghton. Her angelic voice feels like ascension to elysium. Its warm & ethereal, and a bit psychedelic. The fact that its called dodecahedron only adds to the allure, but once you hear the string arrangements on the outbursts of chorus, you’ll be pulled into something that feels magical and heavenly. The ramped climax and tender denouement create an amusing, playful feel that really intrigues to hear more from this band. More from BJH Facebook | Twitter
