Other Lives – Tamer Animals
Other Lives – For 12

Paste got the honors to share Other Lives newest single ‘Tamer Animals’ (to go along with For 12) the title track on their upcoming (May 10) album which is highly anticipated and from how many times I’ve listened to it over the last few days… well worth the anticipation. Its a gorgeous, lush album that music lovers are really going to enjoy.

Video | The Cave Singers – Black Leaf

Check out the adventure video which is seemingly ‘Where the Wild things Are’ without wild things… a group of adventurous kids go on a treasure quest ending up in a monster’s lair… so I guess there are wild things. Check out the video, the great song, an album review and tour dates.

New Music | 1,2,3 – Work

1,2,3 – ‘Work’ 1,2,3’s upcoming album sounds like its going to be pretty damn fantastic.  This second single ‘Work’ was just released on AOL Spinner’s mp3 of the day.  Its a crunchy, guitar driven song meant to be a working class anthem.  This seems to be a theme on the album, when their Pittsburgh blue collar song about riding the cheap seats, Riding Coach, spoke of the same theme.

Tonight | Freelance Whales at the Paradise

words by: Courtney Leigh Allen Day Off Enzymes If you’re partial to the night sky, or vaguely attracted to rooftops, you should probably be headed to the Paradise tonight to catch Freelance Whales. And arrive early because the five-piece band from Queens, New York is opening for the English indie rock band Foals. It’s been over a year since Freelance Whale’s debut album Weathervanes was released, so if I had to guess, I’d say that there’s an excellent chance that tonight we’ll get to hear some of their new stuff. They’ve released at least two singles, Enzymes and Day Off, in…

Show | The Acre CD Release tonight at TT the Bears

The Acre – Guilty Soul Boston’s The Acre is set to release their album Circa Trova tonight at TT the Bears place in Cambridge.  The sophomore album, was recorded with help from Chris McLaughlin (Aberdeen City, Mean Creek, Township).  With influences like Wilco, Bon Iver and Low Anthem in their minds they’ve created an album that merges those influences with their own style. The music is hilariously defined as ‘Amerigaze.’ A sort of Americana with the sleepy dreamy style of shoe gaze that creates this entrancing lush atmosphere that is absolutely gorgeous.  This is done so well in songs in…

New Music | Country Mice – Morning Son

Country Mice – Morning Son Country Mice – Festival Country Mice just released a free download on Paste of a second single titled ‘Morning Son.’  The Kansan turned Brooklyn band will release their debut album ‘Twister’ June 7th.  The country twanged slow churning track and if I’m reading it right, its about the leaving the writer’s leaving regret for leaving home.  Its a great sounding regretful track and I’m looking forward even more to hearing the album upcoming.
