Check out a new track from Manchester Orchestra off their upcoming album ‘Simple Math.’ This album is highly anticipated, and from the sounds of this track gonna be quite the awesome rock record. I really can’t wait to hear it in full.
Sorry for the autoplay issue I couldn’t figure out how to stop the player… but the song is awesome anyways.
Check ‘April Fool’ after the break.
Leave a CommentCan’t You Tell Vetiver recently released first single off upcoming album ‘The Errant Charm’ entitled Can’t You Tell. It’s a smooth, ambling jam that appears to be perfect for a slow travel day. Its got a subtle bouncy bass rhythm and light airy vocals that are near trance like. The Errant Charm releases June 14th on SubPop! Grab a free copy here:
Leave a CommentBilgewater Last night while I was at the Newport Folk Fest lineup party the entertainment for the party was this band I hadn’t heard anything about. Not sure how I missed it, but these guys were totally amazing. Brown Bird, is a rootsy American folk band that seems to frequent the dark side of those influences. The music can be haunting, it can have foot stomping rhythm, and its always quite beautiful. For just a two piece, the music is remarkably full sounding (thanks to David Lamb’s one-man band ability … and his amazing beard). The Rhode Island based band…
3 CommentsWhip My Hair – Today FM Ray D’Arcy A few weeks ago, James Vincent McMorrow did a cover of Willow Smith’s Whip My Hair on Today FM with Ray D’Arcy. This is actually fantastic it might be a cover of the ‘Neil Young & Bruce Springsteen’ cover from Fallon. It’s actually pretty awesome. Comedy aside, I assure you if you haven’t heard James Vincent McMorrow’s recently released album, Early in the Morning … I’ve reviewed it here. I can assure you, its one of my favorite albums of 2011 and well worth the price they are asking for it ($5.99).…
Leave a CommentFestival Brooklyn’s Country Mice don’t sound anything like a Brooklyn band, their sound is roughly a twangy indie rock band with dirt rubbed all over it. Its not glossy, but it is rootsy, a little bluesy, and all kinds of rockin (see ripping solo). This single is released on the anticipation of their debut album ‘Twister’ out June 7th. The bands Kansan roots help tell tales of hardships, joys, and love of growing up in a small town in the Midwest. More from Country Mice: Myspace| Facebook | Twitter
Leave a CommentAsking Your Mom for Money Synth Pop band from here in Boston, the Bynars, make some of the most fun music around. Releasing a second single from their forthcoming album, for sale / name your own price on bandcamp. Every time I write about these guys, I shout out loud… ‘this is their catchiest song yet!’ and I’m saying it again. The song is super catchy, fun, and highly highly highly repeatable. I’ve been a big fan of these guys for a few years now and really never get sick of their ‘Party All Nite’ EP, and I am really looking…

Brooklyn-based quintet O’Death announced a huge tour in support of their upcoming album Outside (April 19, Ernest Jenning Record Company). Check out the brand new released track of the album ‘Alamar,’ a spooky, haunted sounding track straight from the start that has got this great earthy, creepy sound.

Leave a CommentYo Mama by Larry G(EE) Larry Gayao (Larry Gee) is a Dallas based musician that just recently released a retro-soul barn burner of a track entitled Yo Mama that is totally made to be played at high volumes. This retro soul style is becoming pretty popular (thanks Raphael Saadiq, Mayer Hawthorne) and this is one of the most fun tracks I’ve heard this year. The sound is fresh, totally fun, vocally impressive and totally exciting. I’m told a full EP is in the works, and we should be hearing more from Larry Gee very soon. Download the track for free…
