Drive By Truckers “Used to Be A Cop”

Used to Be A Cop Go Go Boots, Drive By Truckers newest album is set to be released on February 15, 2011.  They’ve released a track off the album, titled “Used to Be a Cop,” a 7 minute alt country / blues track that, if you are a fan of DBT will be right up your alley.  Its a slow moving, story driven track, with a great country blues feel, it might be a long track but well worth every minute. New Music | Wye Oak – Civilian

Civilian The much anticipated 3rd release (Civilian) of Baltimore duo Wye Oak won’t come until 2011.  But yesterday amped up the anticipation with title track, Civilian being released. The track is powerful, yet vocally quiet singer Jenn Wasner’s voice conveys that strength until succumbed by Andy Stack’s guitars, organs, pounding percussions drown her out.  The song is quite beautiful, and a joy to listen to. Too Many Flesh Suppers Welsh indie poppers drop an obscure b-side “Too Many Flesh Suppers,” a dark and twisted pop track (that doesn’t make sense) that is heart-wrenching and  beautiful.  The string compositions are morose, as is the title of the track, and the lyrics just as dark You ripped off my flesh and my heart grabbed the ribs like a prisoner. Middle Brother Daydreaming…

The supergroup that was once known as MG&V and now known as Middle Brother, is John McCauley of Deer Tick, Taylor Goldsmith of Dawes, and Matthew Vasquez of Delta Spirit.
