Who doesn’t want to perform at Amoeba Music these days? The guys(and girl) from fanfarlo swooped into Amoeba to live record another great version of their song Luna from their album, Reservoir. If its an album you don’t already own, you should probably get on it.

There have been some real creative looking videos that I’ve been seeing lately, I love the effect of this one. The contrasty halftone effect is really fun to watch. I hate to single out Jack White on this one, but there is always something cool going on with the videos he is involved in. Either way, this song, and more importantly this album (Sea of Cowards) is great. A lot of fun to listen to, it just totally rocks.

The Deadstrings (my nickname) have this sound that is more of an homage to 70’s Exile-like Rolling Stones. Their lineup for their newest album Sao…
Tom Petty’s newest album Mojo came out June 15th. As a Petty enthusiast I was really excited by everything I had heard. This song is full of ensemble sounds, from screaming harmonica, killer guitar solo, and some great piano sounds. Its a song full of bouncing fun bluesy rock goodness.
Check out the new video from the Pains of Being Pure at Heart. The track is called say no to love, and the video is really cool, it’s got a mixed media hand drawn animation overlaid upon video. Very Cool.
Another great video of the fantastic Local Natives performing their song Wide Eyes.
