Mixtape | June 2018

Welcome to summer friends! We’re rolling into the weekend and it’s going to be hot hot hot here in the northeast. June was a great month of music, and saw lots of great releases. This mixtape represents our favorite 40 songs of the month, across a broad spectrum of music. I hope you dig it, and as always let us know if we missed something amazing.

Photos | I’m With Her + Andrew Combs @ Sanders Theatre

When you think of Folk music, The Celebrity Series of Boston is probably not what springs to mind immediately. But on this evening, the series—which is better known for it’s classical, jazz, and international artist performances—played host to two of the Folk world shining treasures: I’m With Her and Andrew Combs. But while the match may have seemed a bit out of character for the series, it wouldn’t take long for the performance—which took place in Harvard University’s gorgeous Sanders Theatre—to make perfect sense to everyone in the house. The acoustics and amazingly attentive and appreciative audience were the perfect…

New Music + Interview | Andrew Combs – Canyons of My Mind

In the past 365 days, Andrew Combs has been anything but bored. He signed on with a killer label (New West Records,) got hitched to his longtime girlfriend, began prepping himself to be a father, and not long after this post goes live he’ll be officially dropping Canyons of My Mind, the follow up to his watershed album All These Dreams. Where Dreams wowed fans and critics with is combination of sonic wizardry and timeless lyricism, it feels to me like Canyons is more of a personal testament or a mark in time, addressing such themes as environmentalism (“Dirty Rain,”)…

Mixtape | March 2017

Another great month of music, almost too much of it, to keep the format of 40 songs from the month I ended up pulling a few favorites. But there are some great songs in here, and I know I will continue to come back to this mixtape as the year goes along. I’ve had a ton of fun putting this together, and hope you enjoy.

Mixtape | February 2017

February is always a fantastic month for new music. With SXSW right around the corner, it’s a huge driver for new music and this year was another great one. Now that February is over and we are two months down into this year, it’s time once again to get our monthly mixtape into your hands. We’re psyched to hear new songs from Blondie (yes that Blondie), Andrew Combs, Matt Vazquez, the Shins, Foxygen, Father John Misty and tons more. I’ve had a ton of fun putting this together, and hope you enjoy.
