By Martin Smith Days two and three of Boston Calling provided music that was as diverse as the weather (Saturday 90s, Sunday 50s). The contrast between bands was often stark, starting with hip-hop and moving anywhere from instrumental jam bands, to 70s soul, to top 40 pop, but always landing on high energy dance-your-face-off artists from around the world. With all the big acts involved in this festival you could have flipped a coin to choose the headliners. Crowd favorites Miike Snow and Janelle Monáe finished earlier in the nights with Odesza and Robyn closing the show on Saturday night and…

4 Comments[W]ith a new album out June 4th on Dine Alone Records, Dallas Green aka City and Colour is out with a new single — Thirst. It’s got all of Dallas Green’s signature honesty and heartbreak, but with a real bluesy punch. Based
on what we’ve heard from the album so far, it should be another fantastic release under Green’s moniker. City and Colour will be out touring for the album in the fall, dates are below! All tickets come with a digital download of the new album on June 4th, so really, what reason do you have NOT to go?
6 Comments[D]allas Green’s highly praised solo project City & Colour has a new record coming this summer, and finally released this beautiful track “Of Space and Time,” a gloomy track about loss, and being lost, that by its climax soars, but echoes within the sullen nature of the lyrics. It’s great tune and in celebration of the new material, the band will perform at several shows this week at SXSW. Look for the album sometime this summer. 8 CommentsCity and Colour – Fragile Bird Dallas Greene and his band City and Colour played to a sold-out crowd at the House of Blues on Lansdowne street Friday night. Dallas, who stood in a dark shirt, suspenders and bow tie, shared harmonies with his bassist. And not only…

Leave a CommentCity and Colour – Northern Wind by VagrantRecords City & Colour’s much anticipated third album, Little Hell, will be out June 7th. New song, “Northern Wind” is an absolutely haunting and stunning. The instantly intimate song sprawls over 4 minutes of reverbed vocals over a simple and warm acoustic guitar. This is the second track City and Colour has released, the first being Fragile Bird, and it should generate some buzz as both of these songs are really wonderful to listen to.
