Photos | David Wax Museum @ Lizard Lounge

Last Friday night at Lizard Lounge, local legends and Music Savage favorites David Wax Museum celebrated the official launch of their latest release Line of Light by bringing down the house with a magical set that both brought down the house with a overwhelming energy and then built it back up through songs filled with beauty and positivity. Thankfully, they asked us to come along for the ride. Visual evidence of the incredible evening is presented through the photos below, but to be truthful, no image could ever capture the magic that is a David Wax Museum performance. Luckily for…

Review | David Wax Museum – Everything is Saved

Chuchumbe Born With A Broken Heart Last week the Mexo-American folk band David Wax Museum released it’s album ‘Everything is Saved,’ here in Boston.  I missed the party, but I certainly was not going to miss getting to hear their album.  They had already released 2 tracks from the upcoming album, and to put it lightly I was extremely excited about both tracks. I first saw DWM last summer when they got together at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge with Ben Kweller.  Honestly, Kweller was the draw for me, but once I heard David Wax, and Sue Slezak play I…

David Wax Museum – Chuchumbe

Chuchumbe Another track surfaced yesterday (Paste got the honors) from David Wax Museum’s upcoming album, Everything is Saved (due February 8).  Another foot-stompin mexican folk track with some interesting history.  The song was banned in mexico years ago by the catholic church because of its suggestive lyrics (chuchumbe is senegalese for bellybutton to bellybutton) and now it’s made it’s way back to boston.  Everything I’ve heard from David Wax has been fantastic, and this only builds more anticipation. If you are here in Boston, David Wax Museum will be throwing a release party that looks to be pretty amazing.  Grab…

David Wax Museum’s Born with a Broken Heart

Born With A Broken Heart Boston based folk band David Wax Musem craft Latin / Americana / Folk music by fusing Mexican roots with country, folk, and rock.  With an assortment of lesser known instruments (Whats a quijada anyway?) they perform some amazing sounding music.  Gaining momentum after their show at the Newport Folk Festival over the summer, they have recorded a new album and I await the final release here in Boston in February. Their upcoming album, Everything is Saved, which will be released February 3rd, contains the single, Born With A Broken Heart, with a latin rhythm, and…
