Press Play! Summer is in full force, July has been a great month to us. We’ve got the reemergence of Wolf Parade!! new song from St. Vincent, records from Arcade Fire and Toro y Moi, and tons of stuff in between. There’s a little bit of everything in this mixtape, from the indie pop persuasion, to the folk contingent, even a pinch of hip hop. Tonight | Reptar, Cults and Foster the People at the House of Blues

Reptar – Blast Off There’s sure to be a dance party going on at the House of Blues tonight on Lansdowne street. Foster the People are bringing their pumped up kicks, and Cults are always good for a great live show. But it’s Atlanta newbies Reptar who is likely to be the most ridiculous, and perhaps amazing. These southern gentlement all met during elementary, middle and high school in Atlanta, and now they’re based all over the east coast in college. Surely opening for Cults and Foster the People is as legitimate excuse as any to take a semester off.…

Foster the People – Helena Beat

Helena Beat Over the summer LA band, Foster the People, had released a track entitled ‘Pumped Up Kicks’ one of the more catchy songs of the beach season.  You were sure to be humming the chorus, singing along and just generally grooving to that track. The band entered the studio to record, and fell off the grid. Six months later they released a second track. They come back with Helena Beat a synthy, groove based track thats very similar to a Passion Pit kind of song.  Gang chorus’ and synth beats.  Its a fun track and looks to show off…
