What’s great about this album? It gets back to what these guys do so damn well. Make a record for songs, not just sounds, and as I’m a huge huge fan of 07’s The Stage Names, one could only guess that if they go back to that that it will sit very high on my list. The sold out show on what would normally be a quiet Monday night was rightfully busy, abuzz with folks who seemed to all be huge J Rod fans. My Top Albums of ’10 15 – 11

It’s near impossible to pick one top album with the massive amount of music I listened to this year but I thought I’d try to at least give you an idea of what you should grab this year before we start anew.  Yesterday I debuted 20 thru 16; today my 15 thru 11. 15.  Frightened Rabbit – The Winter of Mixed Drinks Frightened Rabbit has quickly become one of my favorite acts out there; and this album was absurdly fantastic.  This was a post post-breakup album with bombastic epic songs about loneliness, misery and rebirth.
