The month of April is over, and we’re finally getting out from under our winter form and into the allergy season. There was tons of new great music, and I slipped in a cover on this mixtape. New Music | Lake Street Dive – Call Off Your Dogs

This new cut from Lake Street Dive’s upcoming record, Side Pony, is a funky odyssey into the neo-soul, and I’m finding myself pressing repeat over and over again. Rachel Price’s voice is spot on, and the band seems to be picking up right where they left off on their ’14 effort Bad Self Portraits. The funky bass line, disco era string arrangements, and horns all make the song a total head bobber, and one you’ll be reaching for again and again. Pickathon 2013 @ Pendarvis Farm (PDX)
