Wednesdays, they don’t usually have much going for them. [D]esigned as a nebulous sonic canvas, Mutual Benefit, the brain child of Ohio, Austin, Boston, Brooklyn journeyman Jordan Lee, creates pop tunes that showcase a fragility, translucency, a sort of blurring that is ever ornamented with lush sounds of keys, guitar, violin, and homemade percussions. It’s warm, hopeful and kind of a joy to listen to. Check out the tune “Golden Wake,” above, one of those heartbeat songs that has the power to slow down time, and ever so slightly force you to replay.
