Cover – My Morning Jacket – Leaving on a Jet Plane (John Denver)

[M]y Morning Jacket released a cover of John Denver’s “Leaving on a Jet Plane,” yesterday on NPR, as part of a tribute to the late songwriter on “The Music Is You: A Tribute to John Denver.” It’s a wonderful cover of one of the most iconic folk songs in music, and MMJ covers it tastefully and as beautifully as it could be done. The subtle airy nature, and slight reverb to the sound elevates the songs feeling of longing and sadness. New Music | My Morning Jacket – Circuital

Circuital Jim (I refuse to call him Yim) James and the bunch are just about to release a brand new album titled ‘Circuital.’  The album track was released for download today and it is per usual, reverb-soaked sound with a Jim’s angelic voice over warm and crunchy guitars, and jangly keys.  Registering at 7 minutes, its quite the rambling song.
