New Music | Great American Canyon Band – Crash

The Great American Canyon band’s music has always dipped into the ethereal, a vast soundscape littered with reverb, space, and a light-as-a-feather vocal track. “Crash” is the first song off of the Baltimore husband and wife duo’s debut LP “Only You Remain”, which comes out February 19, 2016 on Six Degrees Records. Crash explores a wider landscape of sounds, a meandering, floating, underwater vibe that will slow your pulse down. Video Premiere | The Great American Canyon Band – Tumbleweed

[vimeo width=”940″ height=”529″]http://vimeo.com/57892184[/vimeo]

[I]’m very pleased to premiere this video for the Great American Canyon Band’s “Tumbleweed,” a particularly beautiful track from their Lost at Sea EP which is available now on Bandcamp & iTunes. The husband and wife duo create I shared the track months ago because of its ethereal sound, reverbed, spacey vocals that feels like a stripped down, Band of Horses. It’s got the vast wide open space to the sound, feeling desolate yet totally warm and beautiful. It’s a powerful track, that begs a powerful video. The visuals particularly seem to fit very well with serenity of the song, as well as the powerful force of nature towards the climactic finish. The video uses footage from the Jared Varva directed short film, TUMBLEWEED!, which was a Vimeo staff pick and screened at SXSW.

The Great American Canyon Band – Burn

The Great American Canyon Band – Burn Chicago based husband and wife duo Paul and Krystal Jean Masson make up The Great American Canyon Band, and are about to release a self-recorded 7? from their debut album, which was recorded in a gutted house in Chicago. Their ethereal sound feels like a stripped down, Band of Horses, the gossamer, reverbed vocals and wide spatial palette feels desolate, and spacey, with a hint of country tinge through the use of two old acoustic guitars. Check out their second track released, “Burn,” a powerful track with a huge buildup. The use of…

Their ethereal sound feels like a stripped down, Band of Horses, the gossamer, reverbed vocals and wide spatial palette feels desolate, and spacey, with a hint of country tinge through the use of two old acoustic guitars. Its a really gorgeous, special sound that feels extremely distant as it dips in and out of…
