The great thing about being so late to releasing the August mixtape is that September is here, and the mixtape is ready to go. It goes without saying but I think this mixtape is really great, and I’m digging the heck out of the songs that are on it. Please do let me know if you’ve heard stuff that we missed this month.

I’m super late (vacation, and some technical issues) to getting this to ya’ll but hey music is music. August was a pretty great month for new music, with new music from some of our favorites like Aaron Lee Tasjan, Ron Gallo and Tallest Man on Earth. But we saw and heard great tunes from all over. Please do let us know if we’ve missed any songs that you are loving right now.
The month of April is over, and we’re finally getting out from under our winter form and into the allergy season. There was tons of new great music, and I slipped in a cover on this mixtape. I hope you like it as much as I do. As always, let us know what we’ve missed (if anything), and please do enjoy.

The month of March is over, and it’s time for the world to bloom a bit. This month was especially difficult to keep the total tracks to 40. Editing down, we’ve got great new stuff from Natalie Prass, to Erin Rae, Ry Cooder, Hiss Golden Messengerand so much more. I’m so so stoked on this mixtape and I hope you like it as much as I do. As always, let us know what we’ve missed (if anything), and please do enjoy.
Press Play! Summer is in full force, July has been a great month to us. We’ve got the reemergence of Wolf Parade!! new song from St. Vincent, records from Arcade Fire and Toro y Moi, and tons of stuff in between. There’s a little bit of everything in this mixtape, from the indie pop persuasion, to the folk contingent, even a pinch of hip hop. I Hope you dig our mix, and please as always let us know what songs should have been on the mix.

Last Thursday we had the opportunity to sit in on two fine acts who will be donning the grounds of Fort Adams for the Newport Folk Festival come July. Having jumped on the tickets during a pre-sale, we had one of the best seats in the house for an intimate show with the rest of the folks at the Orpheum.
[P]art two of our Newport Folk Festival wishlist as compiled by the Music Savage gang. With winter coming down hard on us New Englanders we eagerly anticipate the music extravaganza this July and countdown the days until all our favorite bands converge on Rhode Island for one glorious weekend. Again, if you have not already purchased tickets we highly suggest you do so now before they sell out >>Buy Tickets<< Lady Lamb the Beekeeper Maine native Aly Spaltro goes by the name of Lady Lamb the Beekeeper and was named Folk Artist of the Year by our very own Boston…
