[F]ormer Yukon Blonde member Andy Bishop has been a busy guy in his musical career. Bassist with Yukon Blonde, & Guitarist of Red Cedar, you wouldn’t expect a solo project that of White Ash Falls, but his solo project has a debut disc coming this fall and the project was also signed to Light Organ Records today. Check out the first single “I Can’t Get Tomorrow,” a cool folksy ballad with some weeping pedal steel, a little hammond and Bishop’s intimate / confessional lyrics. It’s a great, classic sounding track that fits somewhere into the ever expanding classic folk rock…
Vancouver, BC quartet Yukon Blonde is giving everyone the opportunity to stream their new album for a week leading up to SXSW. Check out the follow up to their fantast EP Fire // Water and their upcoming schedule:
Yukon Blonde – Choices I really dig what Yukon Blonde is doing with their music. Its a west coast vibe, but with a cool Canadian breeze blowing over it. The cool harmonies, and chilled out solo on this track really tie well together. The Vancouver-based Yukon Blonde had debuted this track off their Fire // Water EP. The song was a accident in the work, starting off as a studio experiment that turned into a fantastic song. Also, we can get excited as we expect to see a forthcoming LP set for the end of this month. Grab the EP:
Check out Canada’s Yukon Blonde video for their track “Water” from their recently released Fire//Water EP on Dine Alone Records. Similar to their track “Fire” its a refreshing classic rock style tune with harmonies that are awe-inspiring. The video is remarkably beautiful, and tells the tale of a group of western travelers one of whom is on the wrong end of an arrow. Check it out, and grab the Fire // Water EP. Buy Fire//Water
Canada’s Yukon Blonde has announced the release of their Fire//Water EP on Dine Alone Records out October 11 in the US. The first lick from the EP is their track “Fire,” a refreshing classic rock style with harmonies that are inspiring. The band is a little reminiscent of CSN, they retain a timeless sound that is effervescent and a bit west coasty. The song is a bit sing songy, and simplistic, but that simplicity is what will keep you humming along to this track over and over.
Look for the album next month.
