Tired Pony, if you haven’t heard of it, is a side project from Peter Buck from REM, Richard Colburn from Belle & Sebastian, Gary Lightbody and Iain Archer from Snow Patrol, Garret Lee, Scott McCaughey and Troy Stewart. The band also features some back up from M. Ward, Tom Smith, and Zooey Deschanel. So immediately, this is some kind of superband.
Their forthcoming album, The Place We Ran From, has been released in the UK, and releases to the US on September 28th. You can pre order The Place We Ran From from Amazon now. Look for a US tour sometime after September. They play the first US show in New York at Gramercy Theatre on October 1st.
