January Hymn is the second shared track from the Decemberists’ upcoming release, the King is Dead. January Hymn is near the archetype for a Decemberist track. In no way is that a bad thing. Meloy employ’s his trademark vocals, the subtle echo that feels like a tremble. The track feels as though its an opener for a huge epic track. We won’t really know until we hear the album as a whole, but its safe to assume, The King is Dead, will bring the Decemberists into the new year with some fantastic music.
