New Music | Yuck – Athena

[B]oisterous British band Yuck have been busy these recent months. In October of last year they released their fantastically-titled, sophomore album, Glow and Behold, (after the departure earlier in the year of guitarist/vocalist Daniel Blumberg who left to concentrate on his solo career), recruited a new guitarist/vocalist, and hit the roads of the UK and the US to promote their latest record.

Over the holiday season the band worked on a present to their fans in the form of a new 4-song EP titled, Southern Skies, which will be released later this spring. The first song is the astral “Athena,” a track that takes the listener through day-dreamy landscapes of layered harmonies on a lo-fi locomotive of sonic delight. A new path for our noise-rock heroes to travel, and you should all come along for the ride.
