New Music | Brown Bird – Bannermen

It’s hard to believe that this weekend marks the 1 year anniversary of the loss of the presence that was David Lamb. On April 5th, 2014 the music world became a little less bright as we said goodbye to a beloved musician who was a force to be reckoned with, both on stage and in his battle with leukemia.

One thing about being in Lamb’s profession is that although he is no longer with us physically, his spirit will forever live on in the beautiful music he created with his partner in Brown Bird and in life, MorganEve Swain. Together the duo created some of the most memorable songs I have ever had the pleasure of stomping around the house to, and seeing them live was definitely a highlight in all my concert going experiences.

We now have a new Brown Bird album on the way and if the new track, “Bannerman,” is any indication of what is musically in store from the final album, Axis Mundi, then the legacy and spirit of David Lamb is still truly 100% with us a year on. The track is a powerful statement of will and strength put forth to battle against fear and doubt, which has the power to crush a human spirit. David Lamb and MorganEve Swain prevailed!

Axis Mundi will be released on April 28 via Supply & Demand and you can pre-order here.
