What do you get when you put The Ballroom Thieves, Island Creek Oysters, and Newport Folk Festival together on a warm December Monday night on Boston’s Newbury Street? Well all signs would point to damn good time and all those signs would be right.
This past Monday, a small crowd of lucky folks crowded into the ICO pop-up shop (at 142 Newbury St., just in case you’re looking for a last minute present for the mothershuckers on your list) and were treated to good beer, fantastic oysters and a short set of great tunes from the Thieves. And even after an 18-hour drive to make the event, the local heroes were able to lay down a perfect set of songs to make the evening complete.
Here’s hoping this kind of partnership happens more and more often…
