Far away and long ago (July of 2015 to be exact) we were delighted to share a spectacular video from Californian quintet Foxtails Brigade to announce their upcoming self-titled album. At that time there was no set release date, but that has changed with the new year. Foxtails Brigade, the band’s third LP, will be available on April 8th via OIM Records and we were sent the fantastic new single, “Nun But The Lost,” along with the announcement.
The track spins and swirls in so many different directions there is entirely no point to try and nail it down to any specific type of sound or style. Lead singer and guitarist Laura Weinbach’s vocals dance around a dizzying array of horns, strings, crashing cymbals, and chirping birds. The tempo changes with almost every verse and repeated plays will be necessary to catch it all. “Nun But The Lost” is everything AND the kitchen sink!
