New Music | The Octopus Project – Wrong Gong

Very excited to share with you fellow music lovers the amazing new single, “Wrong Gong,” from The Octopus Project. The track is the first to be released from the Austin, TX band’s upcoming album, Memory Mirror, out April 7, 2017 via Robot High School.

The quartet have been creating their unique brand of electronic, dance-rock for fifteen years and have released five full-length albums, all packed with enough psychedelic sounds and digital loops to keep you swirling around the room in a blissed-out state for decades. “Wrong Gong” keeps the noisy fun going strong with a heavy beat and what seems like a thousand different instruments mixed through a thousand different channels. Plug your best pair of headphones in to experience it for yourself.

Octopus Project will be hitting the road starting with the West Coast in February before heading back home to play this year’s SXSW Festival in Austin. East Coast dates will be announced soon. I had the pleasure of catching them the last time they were in town a few years ago when they lit up the stage at the sorely missed T.T. the Bear’s Place. They are a must see live band!

  1. Crazy quirky pretty pop weird eccentric off-kilter yet cute and catchy, a veritable fanfare of ever so slightly psycho psychedelic fun and easy invention,,,,
