The latest edition of the WFMO X Music Savage Show “Song of the Week” spotlight comes to you from Calgary quartet RALEIGH. The wonderful new single, “Smoke In Our Eyes,” is from the band’s upcoming album, Powerhouse Bloom, which will be released Friday, September 29 via Indie 88.
RALEIGH took life in 2010 as a collaboration between songwriters Brock Geiger and Clea Anaïs and blossomed into a full band with the addition of Matt Doherty (drums) and Will Maclellan (bass). They released their debut album independently in 2011 titled, New Times in Black and White, and quickly found an audience thanks to imaginative lyrics and unabashed pop hooks.
With the release of their third full-length album RALEIGH are setting themselves up to be the next big Canadian breakout band here in the states, and if the accolades they have been receiving from music fans in our neighbor to the north are any indication of what is to come, 2017 will see fit to make some space for the Calgary 4-piece here in the US music scene.
