This week’s WFMO X Music Savage Show “Song of the Week” spotlight is focused on the beautiful city of Falun and shines on the fantastic new single, “Wild Heart,” from Swedish band Francis. The group officially formed in 2006 and self-released their debut album Lekomberg, We Were Kin in 2011, followed by their EP titled This Must Be Blood in 2012.
Fancis are founding members Petra Mases (vocals) and Petter Nygårdh (drums), along with the newest members of the band Jerker Krumlinde (guitars), Paulina Mellkvist (bass), and Oskar Bond (keys). In 2016 the quintet released their sophomore full-length album, Marathon, which was the first release from the current incarnation of the band. The single “Swing” came out August 2017 with “All I Want” out this past spring, and now they’re back with their latest sparkly gem, “Wild Heart”.
I’m super excited that we have new music from this super talented band! Hope we have a new full-length album coming our way soon and perhaps a tour of the states sometime in 2019.
