The WFMO X Music Savage Show “Song of the Week” spotlight is once again sharply focused on the Canadian province of Ontario. It is the second time we are highlighting Hamilton band Basement Revolver and this time it is for their epic new single, “Wax and Digital,” the title-track from the upcoming EP due out October 18th via Sonic Unyon.
Basement Revolver are Chrisy Hurn (vocals/guitar), Nimal Agalawatte (bass/synth), Brandon Munroe (drums) and newest member of the crew Jonathan Malström (guitar). The addition of former The Crimson Permanent guitarist has elevated the band’s emotionally intense sound to euphoric new heights. “Wax and Digital” is a soaring number focused on how we value past and present culture. The arrangement of the track as a newly formed quartet is most impressive. I can’t wait to hear the rest of the EP!
We have been following the Canadian band since the debut of their breakout single, “Johnny,” back in 2016. With two EP’s and their fantastic 2018 debut full-length, Heavy Eyes, creating a ton of well deserved buzz it has been incredible to watch as everyone begins to catch on to the sound of Basement Revolver.
