Album of the Week | Fast Romantics - Pick It Up

Fast Romantics · Pick It Up

It’s time for a new “Album of the Week” my friends and this time I have selected, Pick It Up, from Toronto band The Fast Romantics, released August 7th via Postwar Records. This outstanding record is the band’s fourth full-length album and their first new music in three years. The album took shape in California before the pandemic and was completely formed back in Canada under quarantine. Each member contributing via email and video calls to create a cohesive collection of songs that speak on the world we live we find ourselves in and finding the strength to get through each day.

Hailed as a Google Play ‘Artist to Watch’ in 2017, Fast Romantics is comprised of Matthew Angus (vocals, guitar), Jeffrey Lewis (bass), Kirty (vocals, acoustic guitar, synth), Kevin Black (guitars), Lisa Lorenz (keyboards) and Nick McKinlay (drums). The band’s SOCAN award-winning single “Julia” was hailed by NPR as “triumphant” and they found top 20 commercial radio success in Canada with the terrific single, “Why We Fight.” They’ve earned multiple #1 songs on CBC music’s national chart, won Best Pop Group” at the Sirius XM Indies, and was short-listed for Reeperbahn Festival’s Anchor Award in Germany, as well as the Prism Prize in Canada.

I love this album a whole lot and think you should really add this one to your collection friends! Why don’t you take a listen to the wonderful title track up above and then head on over to their official shop to download Pick It Up or pick up a physical copy for yourself!

I can’t wait to hear this album live one day soon! With that said please take a moment and click this link to find out more on the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) and support the Save Our Stages Act. | | | Twitter @fastromantics | Instagram @fastromantics
